A Letter that Binds, USPS

The Elidi Foundation supports one of America’s most quintessential and historic institutions, The United States Postal Service. The mission of the USPS is as honorable as it is simple: serve all people. It by-law delivers to every single person in the country, over 160 million addresses, no matter where they live. The United States Postal Office has been around since America’s inception. In fact, it predates the nation by one year. The workforce that makes up the postal service is diverse, and in this time of crisis during COVID 19, the postal workers are part of the essential heroes serving our country. They are anchors of the community and serve the people first and foremost. By a simple letter delivery, the postal service binds the nation together. Please help keep the USPS alive. Character, Not Color

Our nation has a complex and storied history. In order to become a more progressive and just world, we as a nation, must take responsibility and be held accountable for discrimination against targeted groups. This is ever-present with the bias towards the African American community and the horrid injustice this group faces day in and day out. To live in a state of fear based on ones color is a world we do not want to be a part of; yet cruelly, is the reality for millions of Americans. The Elidi Foundation celebrates our nations unique and beautiful cultural differences. When it comes to the injustice of the world, we support causes that see character, not color. We are privileged to support The Innocence Project.

Justice through Equal Justice Initiative

The Elidi Foundation is privileged to support the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization that epitomizes ‘representing the underrepresented’. Led by Professor Bryan Stevenson, EJI confronts the dark history of racial prejudice in the Deep South that persists in the courtroom today, working to end mass imprisonment. Stevenson and his team have changed the way we talk about race and incarceration, bringing hope and unflinching resolve to the conversation.

Equality through Immigration Relief

The Elidi Foundation feels fortunate to donate to the The Tides Foundation in support of California Immigrants during this global pandemic. It is disheartening that the very people that make up the backbone of our society are left without resources or support from the place they call home. We at the foundation have always admired the hard work of the immigrant community, and have studied or worked among them our entire lives. Our collective California home, a place immigrants tirelessly contribute to, to keep the economy and infrastructure in tact, needs to provide them what they so graciously provide it: it’s care.

Preservation through Saving Spaces

The Elidi Foundation has supported The National Trust for Historic Preservation since our founding. We believe that a deep understanding of the past guides our future. Every historical place has a soul and a story to tell. Preserving such sites, to educate and inspire future generations is a mission we find vital. By honoring and learning from our collective history, we are a more enlightened society. There is no place wiser, than one that has persisted through time.
